Blacksmith Cycles has been in business in Sussex Borough since March of 2005, but how did we
get where we are today?

Owner Nick Pastore started out with a career as a New York City paramedic but always had a
passion for all things mechanical....especially Harley Davidson motorcycles. Days off found
him building bikes in his garage, keeping friends bikes running and working part time at local
motorcycle shops. After 10 years service as a medic working mostly in Harlem and The South
Bronx Nick decided it was time for a career change.

He sold his house, packed up all his tools, and found a shop in an industrial area of Phoenix to
call home (literally). While living in the shop (hey...having tools and a place to work on
projects is more important than a traditional living space...isn't it?) he not only worked full
time in a fabrication/machine shop building frames and suspension components, but more
importantly he also attended
the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute.

While at MMI Nick graduated top of his class receiving certification from Harley Davidson in
the maintenance, repair, and tuning of all models offered by the Motor Company.
Training included:
Early Model (Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead)
Late model (Evo, Twin Cam, Fuel Injection, and Dyno Tuning)
V-ROD
Buell

After returning from Phoenix Nick worked for a year at a New Jersey dealership where he
further expanded his knowledge of the Motor Company's late model motorcycles as well as
gaining familiarity with dealership operations regarding maintenance and repair.

This brings us today.
Before opening the doors we took stock of what other shops had to offer (including the
dealership). What we found was that no one was offering a consistent combination of  quality
work for all types of Harley Davidsons (old and new) AND quality customer service.
It is our priority to make sure that you never walk into our shop without being offered a
friendly greeting and you never leave our shop without receiving quality work....at a fair price
too!! Have a question? Ask away!! It's simple really....if you're a customer (or potential
customer) who is going to support our business we are going to take the time to answer your
questions.

A motorcycle shop is a service oriented business and without
quality service there is no business!!

Thank You
Nick Pastore
